This classic war time view of the well known Confederate military leader will speak best from our illustrations. The all original 3.25 x 4 inch glass lantern slide remains in excellent condition with no chips or cracks while the original paper tape binding offers good evidence of age and period use. A period hand penned brown ink label proclaims ‘J. E. B. Stuart’ as the subject. Expensive in their time, a good quality portrait lantern slide such as this example was taken from a life photograph with sales more commonly limited to the collections of traveling magic lantern projections.
