| Not to be confused with the more modern made Native American souvenirs, this neat little birch bark canoe measures just over 14 inches in length and is of the period when such were entirely hand made from local forest gathered natural material, cut, split and laced together without benefit of modern day tools or materials. Marked PENOBSCOT INDIAN TRADING POST, OLD TOWN, MAINE, this neat little artifact remains in exceptional condition with good natural age and will date to the waning days of early auto touring when the local Indians depended in large part on income derived from such trinkets made and sold from their Penobscot Indian Trading Post co-op on the Penobscot Reservation, Old Town, Maine.
