This attractive example of Civil War vintage folk art measures approximately 16 niches in total length and was hand made from white and black horse hair braided and formed into individual links. The piece is fitted with a spiral carved bone keeper bar and book fob of the same material. All original and in nice condition, watch chains of one variety or another graced many a Civil War trooper’s vest front. This one would lay in especially nicely with a period Cavalry grouping.
