Manufacturer: antique
A beautiful hair work watch chain done in a distinctive pattern, this unusually fine example of the popular sentimental craft of the 1850’s and 1860’s measures 16 inches in total length and offers the unusual feature of carrying a toothpick in it's button bar (see illustration). The hair work chain is an impressive 7/16 of an inch in diameter (We have provided a photo with a US quarter for size comparison.) and remains in extra fine condition , is supple and without frays or imperfections so as to be as nice as when made. A really nice piece for the mourning or Victorian jewelry, watch or even dental collector, this example will make a fine accessory to lay in with any Civil War grouping. (see THE ART OF HAIR WORK by Mark Campbell; re-print edited by Jules & Kaethe Kiiot). We are pleased to offer a no questions asked three day inspection with return as purchased on direct sales!
